ABOUT THE ARTIST

Every piece of art has a message, which presents a moment of reflection to the beholder

Originally from Calgary Ablerta, living most of her adulthood in Vancouver BC; Cindy Fair is a self taught Canadian artist, who has travelled through many parts of Central and South America. It is in this beautiful part of the world where she discovered her passion for its culture, traditions and family values. Some of her fondest memories are of her home in the city and state of Zacatecas, where her attraction to Mexico began. Her inspiration is channeled mostly through the recognition of Dia de Muertos – Mexicoʼs day of the dead. Although this cultural event appears to be based on death; it is in her opinion, more about the celebration of life and the mark we leave behind. Did we fully embrace and live the life we loved? Did we find and bring joy to others? Did we meet our full potential? Those are the most profound thoughts while working on her skulls – each one seems to take on a personality of their own as they evolve into their final masterpiece. Her message belongs to the individual in the hope that the audience will personally assess life, the possibilities and decide what their own legacy will be during the short time they are here.
